Understanding B2B vs B2C Lead Classification

Granularity automatically classifies every visitor as either a B2B (business) or B2C (consumer) lead using multiple data points.

How Classification Works

B2B Detection

A visitor is classified as B2B when:
  • Their IP address belongs to a corporate network
  • The ISP is a business internet provider
  • The organization name maps to a known company
  • Domain-level intelligence confirms a business entity

  • B2C Detection

A visitor is classified as B2C when:
  • Their IP belongs to a residential ISP (Comcast, AT&T, etc.)
  • No corporate organization is detected
  • The connection type is consumer-grade

  • Enrichment Pipeline

    B2B Leads

For B2B leads, we run a full enrichment pipeline: 1. Company identification — name, industry, size, domain 2. Contact discovery — key decision-makers (CEO, VP Marketing, etc.) 3. Phone match (add-on) — direct phone numbers for contacts

    B2C Leads

B2C leads receive: 1. Geolocation — country, region, city 2. Device fingerprint — browser, OS, device type 3. Behavioral data — pages visited, referral source

    Confidence Score

Each classification includes a confidence score (0-100%) based on the strength of the signals.
