Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the Granularity Services and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. It exists to keep the identity graph lawful, ethical, and privacy-respecting. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination.
1. Prohibited Data Uses
You may not use the Services, or any data obtained through them, to:
- Determine a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or education, or for any other purpose that would make the data a “consumer report” under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or similar state laws. Granularity is not a consumer reporting agency and the data is not a consumer report.
- Unlawfully discriminate against any individual or group, including on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, or other protected characteristic.
- Target or infer sensitive characteristics such as health conditions, sexual orientation, precise geolocation, religious beliefs, or union membership.
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, dox, or conduct unlawful surveillance of any individual.
- Identify or market to children, or process the data of individuals known to be under 16.
2. Notice, Consent, and Opt-Outs
- You must maintain an accurate, accessible privacy notice on any website where you deploy our tracking technology, disclosing the use of tracking, identity resolution, and enrichment.
- You must provide any legally required notices and obtain any legally required consent from your visitors.
- You must promptly honor opt-out and other privacy rights requests, including browser preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
3. Outreach and Communications
- Calls and texts: Comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), applicable state calling laws, and Do-Not-Call requirements before using phone-match data to contact individuals. Phone numbers obtained through the Services may be used only for manually dialed calls and texts placed by a live person. You may not use this data with an automatic telephone dialing system (autodialer), a predictive dialer, or any technology that dials numbers automatically or sends prerecorded or artificial-voice messages without the prior express consent required by law.
- Email: Comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, including honoring unsubscribe requests and accurate header/subject information.
- Do not send unlawful, deceptive, or unsolicited communications.
4. Platform Integrity
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or build a competing identity database from the Services.
- Do not exceed rate limits, circumvent access controls, or share API keys with unauthorized parties.
- Do not upload malware or use the Services to compromise the security of any system.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove data, or take other appropriate action. You are responsible for your users’ and end customers’ compliance with this AUP.
